THE LINKS AT TERRANEA ACHIEVES PRESTIGIOUS AUDUBON COOPERATIVE SANCTUARY CERTIFICATION

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Demonstrating its long-term commitment to environmental stewardship, wildlife habitat enhancement and sustainable golf course management, The Links at Terranea - an award-winning nine-hole, par-3 golf course located at Terranea Resort - has earned the prestigious Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses certification.

An award-winning education and certification initiative run by Audubon International, the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program is one of the most respected environmental certification programs in golf with participating courses around the world working to protect natural resources while providing exceptional recreational experiences. The certification acknowledges golf facilities that demonstrate a high standard of environmental management and sustainability across six core areas: environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation and water quality management.

Situated on a stunning expanse of Southern California coastline, The Links at Terranea - known for sweeping panoramas of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island and beyond - has long embraced sustainable practices that complement the resort's enduring commitment to preserving the unique natural habitat and local ecosystems of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Through careful resource management, native habitat protection and environmentally responsible operations, the golf course successfully met the rigorous requirements necessary to achieve certification, providing a sanctuary for area wildlife - from red-tailed hawks to monarch butterflies to desert cottontails - and conserving vital resources for future generations.

Set on 102 acres atop the scenic bluffs of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Terranea Resort has long been regarded as one of California's premier oceanfront destinations - distinguishing itself through personalized service, sustainability initiatives and authentic Southern California coastal experiences. "This certification reflects our team's dedication to protecting and enhancing the pristine coastal environment that makes Terranea Resort such a special destination," said Nick Untermann, general manager of the resort. "We are proud to be recognized for our efforts to balance stellar golf experiences with responsible environmental stewardship and are especially grateful to our extraordinary team working diligently to achieve this designation."

As part of the certification process, The Links at Terranea team - spearheaded by golf course superintendent Jesse Seguin - worked with industry experts, environmental professionals and researchers to implement a complete range of sustainability initiatives, including habitat enhancement projects for native wildlife, water conservation measures, integrated pest management practices, chemical use reduction and safety and educational efforts designed to engage guests and staff in environmental awareness.

According to Seguin, the certification reinforces Terranea Resort's ongoing sustainability initiatives, which span conservation, habitat restoration, resource management and environmental education across the resort's oceanfront property.
