Resort Policies

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policy may vary depending on the package or promotion booked. Standard cancellation policies are listed below:

Hotel

Deposit of one night's room plus any applicable taxes and fees due at the time of booking. Cancellations received within seven days of the original reserved arrival date and early departures will be subject to forfeiture of the deposit amount.

Bungalow, Casita, And Villa

Deposit of 50% of total room plus applicable taxes and fees due at the time of booking. Cancellations received within 10 days of the original reserved arrival date and early departures will be subject to forfeiture of the deposit amount.

Check-In And Check-Out

Check-In

Check-in time begins at 4:00 PM. This is not guaranteed due to occupancy and availability of room types.

Check-Out

Check-out is 11:00 AM. If you require a later check-out, please contact Guest Services before 10:00 AM on the day of departure.

Early Check-In And Late Check-Out

When possible, we are happy to accommodate requests for early check-in or late check-out. However, we may not be able to honor such requests due to the resort's occupancy, availability of specific room types, and the time required for our housekeeping department to clean and prepare guest accommodations. If we are not able to honor your request, you are welcome to utilize the resort's amenities.

Parking

  • Overnight Valet Parking: $67/night
  • Daily Visitor Parking: $27 ($10 with validation)

Guestrooms And Suites

The wide variety of accommodations at Terranea share a warm, spacious residential feel, expertly designed to bring the harmony and natural beauty of the 102-acre coastal setting into each interior. Rooms and Suites at this Southern California coastal resort are bathed in light and open onto balconies with unparalleled vistas of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, lush gardens, and pools. Ground floor accommodations open directly onto the expansive grounds, providing easy access to Terranea's two miles of hiking trails that are brimming with native flora and fauna.

  • Gatherings are not permitted.
  • Occupancy is based on unit type, please refer to the confirmation email for maximum occupancy details.
  • Outside catering companies or services are not permitted at Terranea.
  • Radios, televisions, stereos, etc., must be kept to a minimum volume, especially after 10:00 PM and before 8:00 AM.
  • Excessive noise is inconsiderate of others.
  • No pets shall be permitted in rooms unless it is a specifically designated pet-friendly unit.
  • No illegal use shall be made of the Units. No commercial use, other than transient rental activity, may be made of any Unit unless expressly permitted by Resort Management.
  • No activity shall be conducted in any part of the Units that shall unreasonably interfere with the use and enjoyment of any other guest.
  • Out of respect for the wellness of our guests and associates, the resort is a smoke-free property. (See the resort's smoking policy above for further details.)
  • No firearms (including air guns) are to be fired at Terranea.
  • No illegal or flammable materials may be stored in any Units.
  • No barbequing shall be permitted.
  • Relocating of furniture is not permitted.

Villa And Casita Policy

For the enjoyment and relaxation of all guests and owners at Terranea, the following regulations are in place. As your unit is privately owned, please respect the property and do not hesitate to contact a member of our staff for any need during your stay and we would be pleased to assist you in any way possible.

  • Gatherings are not permitted.
  • Occupancy is based on unit type, please refer to the confirmation email for maximum occupancy details.
  • Outside catering companies or services are not permitted at Terranea.
  • Radios, televisions, stereos, etc., must be kept to a minimum volume, especially after 10:00 PM and before 8:00 AM.
  • Excessive noise is inconsiderate of others. It is essential that Owners and Occupiers be careful at all times not to disturb others with excessive noise.
  • No pets shall be permitted in Villas by rental occupants.
  • No illegal use shall be made of the Units. No commercial use, other than transient rental activity, may be made of any Unit unless expressly permitted by Resort Management.
  • No activity shall be conducted in any part of the Units that shall unreasonably interfere with the use and enjoyment of any other Owner or Occupier.
  • Out of respect for the wellness of our guests and associates, the resort is a smoke-free property. (See the resort's smoking policy above for further details.)

  • No illegal or flammable materials may be stored in any Units.

  • No unsightly condition determined, in the reasonable discretion of Resort Operator, shall be permitted in, on or around the Units. Unsightly conditions include, but are not limited to: hanging of towels, clothing, linens, etc. from decks or patios; dead plants, gear, recreational, or other equipment.
  • The walkways, lobbies, hallways, entrance areas, and stairwells must be kept free and clear of obstructions.
  • Bicycles may only be parked in designated areas and are to be ridden only in designated areas.
  • Landscaped areas may not be used for access.
  • Skateboarding is strictly prohibited within Terranea.
  • No commercial vehicles, boats, sailboats, or watercraft of any nature, nor any trailers or recreational vehicles may be parked within Terranea.
  • Parking for Villa occupants is permitted in driveways and garages only. No street parking is permitted on the Villa road.
  • Neither repair nor washing of cars or vehicles is allowed at Terranea.
  • Bicycles, toys, skateboards, roller-skates, etc. are not allowed in hallways, stairwells, sidewalks, elevators or the entryways, driveways, paved areas, landscaped or grassy areas of Terranea.
  • Only patio furniture that has been approved by Resort may be kept on the patios and decks.
  • Nothing shall be thrown or disposed of from any deck. No activities that permit dirt or water to run onto decks or patios below are allowed.
  • No signs, advertising, or solicitation of any kind are allowed except with the written permission of the Resort.
  • Relocating of furniture is not permitted.

Note: These rules are subject to change at the direction of the Resort Operator. The Resort Operator may levy fines and or other penalties for violation of any of the Rules or Regulations.

Family Policy

  • Children 17 and younger stay at no additional charge in the same room as their parents.
  • The resort offers pack ‘n plays for the comfort of young children. Traditional cribs are not available.
  • Rates are based upon double occupancy.
  • The number of children in a guestroom is subject to the occupancy restrictions of the accommodation type.

Pet Policy

  • Terranea Resort welcomes well-mannered dogs. Breed restrictions do apply. Restricted breeds include but are not limited to rottweiler, doberman pinscher, chow chow, Akita, American pit bull terriers, and miniature bull terriers. Terranea Resort has the right to refuse any aggressive breed. Other pets, including but not limited to cats, birds, reptiles, may not stay or visit the resort.
  • Pets are permitted outdoors at Sea Beans, Nelson's, and our public trails. For health and safety purposes, pets may not sit at or on top of tables/chairs while visiting the aforementioned restaurants. Pets are not permitted at any pools, The Spa, the indoor lobby, or The Links golf facilities. Pet owners are responsible for picking up after their pets, with convent stations located throughout the resort. Pets must be leashed while on property at all times.
  • Emotional support animals are not considered service animals under ADA regulation and are required to abide by general resort pet policy including pet fee.
  • Resort guests are allowed one dog up to 50 pounds or two dogs up to a combined 75 pounds and are permitted in Casita accommodations only. Guests must notify Terranea Resort Reservations of their intent to bring a pet in advance of arrival. A non-refundable pet fee will be applied ($295 Casita, $395 Casita Suite, $595 Multi-Unit Casita Suite). Any requirements for pet overnight stays (including bed, bowl, etc.) will be the responsibility of the pet owner. Guests will be responsible for any damage that may occur, as well as fiscally responsible for any disturbance a pet may create. Guests will ensure that the pet does not disrupt the enjoyment of other guests. For safety purposes, accommodations will not be provided housekeeping service while pet is in the room.

As part of this important initiative, we kindly ask that you refrain from using balloons and single-use plastics during any special celebrations. Photo Policy

Terranea does not permit any professional photography or filming on the resort grounds. This policy is a result of confidentiality agreements with respect to our guests and other special event area restrictions. Additionally, the unauthorized use of drones is strictly prohibited.
