There, you may be greeted by Joe, our resident falconer, who introduces guests to his majestic birds of prey. Set off on a guided kayak tour with Bob, one of our experienced naturalists, who leads guests through coastal kelp forests and ancient sea caves. For those drawn to swimming, embark on a guided snorkeling tour and swim alongside vibrant Garibaldi, Calico Bass, and, if fortune favors, glimpse leopard sharks.

As the sun begins its descent, retreat to Nelson's, a beloved cliffside restaurant perched high above the Pacific. With sweeping ocean vistas and an inviting coastal spirit, Nelson's takes its name from the main character of Sea Hunt, the iconic television series once filmed along these very shores. Savor refined yet relaxed Californian fare, sip handcrafted cocktails, and gather around glowing fire pits as the horizon blushes with shades of gold and rose. For a deeper connection to the land, book a guided coastal hike and let your trail guide share captivating stories of the region's history and fragile ecosystem. Families with a love for nature and marine life can also venture beyond the resort with a complimentary Lexus vehicle, Terranea's preferred partner, to visit the nearby South Coast Botanic Garden or Cabrillo Marine Aquarium.

One of our lovely baristas will gladly scoop your favorite house-made flavor, perhaps creamy rocky road or fresh strawberry, into crisp waffle cones, perfect for a sun-soaked day. Then, make your way to the Resort Pool, where excitement awaits in every splash. Young guests will be drawn to the 140-foot water slide, while adults can retreat to a shaded private cabana, where chilled drinks from The Grill arrive courtesy of Cassie, your welcoming, attentive server for the afternoon.
