TERRANEA RESORT UNVEILS 2026 HOLIDAY SEASON WITH OCEANFRONT CELEBRATIONS, FESTIVE STAYS AND NEW SEASONAL EXPERIENCES

 

Holiday Traditions Return Alongside a Reimagined Gingerbread Hut, Winter Wonderland, Feast of the Seven Fishes and Weekend Caviar Hour

 

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Terranea Resort will welcome the 2026 holiday season with a lineup of oceanfront celebrations, festive dining, family activities and seasonal experiences set against the Pacific on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. From the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and a reimagined Gingerbread Hut to holiday accommodations with professional décor, the resort offers a range of ways to celebrate throughout November and December.

 

Highlights include Winter Wonderland, featuring special character appearances and "snowfall" along the Southern California coast; Feast of the Seven Fishes, a multi-course seafood dinner with wine pairings; and the new Stirred Above the Pacific mixology series. Guests can also enjoy weekend Caviar Hour, Christmas and Hanukkah dining, New Year's Eve celebrations, holiday gingerbread workshops and a limited-time peppermint mocha-inspired treatment at The Spa. For families and couples alike, the season brings together cherished traditions and new ways to experience the holidays by the ocean.

 

Deck Your Stay offerings

Available throughout the month of December

Guests planning a holiday escape can bring the season into their accommodations with Terranea's Deck Your Stay offerings. Available for guests reserving a two-night stay or longer in a two- or three-bedroom Villa, Casita or Bungalow throughout December, the program includes professionally installed holiday décor and seasonal touches designed to create a festive setting from the moment guests arrive.

• The Standard package ($420) includes a natural front-door wreath decorated with orange slices, cinnamon sticks, seed pods and ribbon; a medium decorated centerpiece; luxury sweets and mistletoe.
• The Deluxe package ($1,400) offers a choice of Evergreen, Pinot or Cotier Blue collections and includes a front-door wreath; one large, one medium and two small centerpieces; luxury sweets; a velvet or Corsair table runner; a dining set for four with napkins, napkin rings and chargers; and mistletoe.
• À la carte additions include a six-foot natural garland ($250), a poinsettia-lined entrance to the bungalow, Casita or Villa ($150), additional dining settings ($75 per setting) and an Elf on the Shelf wrapped in a box.

Prices are separate from accommodations and include installation. Seven days' notice is requested for installation.

 

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Saturday, November 28 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Terranea officially kicks off the holiday season with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, inviting resort guests and the Palos Verdes community to gather oceanfront at the resort's Front Drive. The evening will feature holiday entertainment, caroling, dance performances and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, culminating in the lighting of Terranea's signature 30-foot Christmas tree. Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift for donation to Toys for Tots.

Tickets are $32 for ages 13+, and $15 for ages 5-12 (exclusive of fees); complimentary for 4 and under. Advanced registration is required due to limited attendance. Guests can register here.

 

Gingerbread Hut at Terranea Lobby Lounge

Starting Saturday, November 28, to Saturday, January 2; weekdays from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 10 p.m.

Terranea's holiday pop-up returns as the Gingerbread Hut, a coastal-inspired, 7-by-7-foot structure crafted from more than 1,000 pounds of house-made gingerbread. The functional bar is decorated with gumdrops, candy canes, royal icing, gingerbread surfboards and other coastal-inspired confectionery details, with a separate beach-themed gingerbread village nearby. The seasonal menu features tropical-inspired cocktails, a zero-proof hot cocoa and an assortment of festive sweets.

 

Feast of the Seven Fishes

Friday, December 11 beginning at 5 p.m. with cocktails; ages 21 and older

Terranea will celebrate the Italian-American Christmas Eve tradition with the Feast of the Seven Fishes, a multi-course seafood dinner created through a collaboration among the resort's culinary team, with chefs from across Terranea contributing to the menu. Each course will be paired with a thoughtfully selected wine. The evening begins with Italian-inspired bites, including salt cod crostini and swordfish skewers, followed by a progression of seafood preparations featuring bluefin tuna carpaccio with lemon oil, cauliflower and Ossetra caviar; octopus salad with preserved lemon vinaigrette; chestnut soup with red prawn; and squid ink spaghetti with spider crab, squid and tomato. Other highlights include Culurgiones di Branzino, a sea bass pasta preparation with sea urchin, trout roe and mint; Mediterranea red mullet with green apple, celery root purée, tomato chutney, seafood sauce and Alba truffles; and butter-poached lobster with radish and black truffle emulsion. The meal concludes with zabaglione featuring Moscato, strawberries and fresh mint, followed by a selection of traditional Italian sweets by Executive Pastry Chef Pierino Jermonti, including struffoli, bunet, tiramisu, cannoli, lemon meringue, ricciarelli and torta della nonna.

Price: $450 per person, including wine pairings; excludes tax and gratuity

 

Winter Wonderland

Saturday, December 12 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Families can experience a winter celebration with a distinctly Southern California setting during Winter Wonderland at Terranea. The festive evening will feature seasonal traditions, special character appearances and the rare delight of "snowfall" along the coast. Guests can also enjoy seasonal favorites, including freshly roasted chestnuts, roasted turkey legs, pizzas such as butternut squash with sage and brie, and an assortment of holiday-inspired sweets, from pumpkin pie and cinnamon rolls to s'mores cookies and German chocolate cake.

Admission is $45 for guests ages 13 and older, $23 for children ages 5-12 and $10 for toddlers ages 3-4. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. Food and beverages are available for purchase separately.

Gingerbread Workshops

December 12, 19 and 23 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Guests can embrace the sweeter side of the season during Terranea's holiday gingerbread workshops. Guided by the resort's executive pastry chef Pierino Jermonti, participants will decorate their own gingerbread houses and create personalized holiday confections to take home.

Holiday Family

Throughout December

Terranea's Kids Club will offer a variety of holiday-themed activities for children ages 3 to 12 throughout December. Programming will include seasonal crafts, ornament decorating, postcards to the North Pole and other holiday surprises designed for younger guests. Additional family programming throughout the season will include holiday movie nights and other festive activities throughout the resort.

 

Oceanfront Holiday Dining

Terranea's holiday season extends to the dining table with a lineup of festive culinary experiences, from seasonal cocktails and caviar to Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year's Eve celebrations. The resort's Caviar Hour at Lobby Bar & Terrace invites guests to enjoy caviar service and curated bites alongside Champagne, sparkling wine and select wines on Friday through Sunday evenings. The new Stirred Above the Pacific mixology series adds another dimension to the season, featuring cocktail demonstrations, light bites and signature drinks in an oceanfront setting. Throughout the holidays, guests can gather for special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dining at the resort's restaurants, as well as Hanukkah offerings honoring the season. New Year's Eve will bring the festivities to a close with a range of experiences for couples, friends and families, including celebratory dining, live entertainment and a Masquerade celebration in the Palos Verdes Ballroom.

 

A Peppermint Mocha-Inspired Spa Treatment

Available December 1, 2026 through January 6, 2027

The Spa at Terranea Resort will offer the limited-time Peppermint Mocha Glow Body Scrub from December 1 through January 6. The 60-minute treatment combines invigorating peppermint, rich cocoa and warm vanilla in a full-body exfoliation designed to leave skin feeling soft, smooth and hydrated during the colder months.
