RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Terranea Resort, the award-winning luxury destination on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, invites guests to celebrate Thanksgiving with a collection of exquisite culinary experiences overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Extravagant Thanksgiving Celebration in the Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom

Thursday, November 27, with seatings from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Live Entertainment from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. 

Terranea's annual Thanksgiving Celebration offers a luxurious dining experience with live music in the stylish Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom. Guests may toast the occasion with specialty cocktails including a Cranberry Martini or Bourbon Brown Sugar Old-Fashioned before indulging in an elaborate menu. Highlights include chilled seasonal salads, jumbo shrimp, West Coast oysters, king crab legs, and an assortment of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie. Entrées from the carving station include Ginger and Spice Roasted Whole Turkey with chestnut stuffing, Honey-Glazed Ham, Garlic Rosemary Rubbed Prime Rib, Roasted Salmon and Chicken Cacciatore, accompanied by seasonal sides and soups. The meal concludes with a decadent dessert presentation featuring made-to-order crepes, fried apple pies, caramelized pumpkin and pecan pie, gluten- and dairy-free banana tiramisu, German chocolate mini cakes, and an array of additional sweet delights.

Pricing is $205 for adults, $95 for children ages 5 to 12, and complimentary for children ages 4 and under, inclusive of service charge, processing fee, and tax.

Gourmet Three-Course Thanksgiving at mar'sel

Thursday, November 27, from 12 to 7 p.m. Live Entertainment from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.

Helmed by Executive Chef Fabio Ugoletti, mar'sel, a Wine Spectator Award winner and Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant, presents a sophisticated three-course holiday menu. First-course options include Pan-Fried Scallop with beluga lentils, cauliflower chocolate puree, orange segments and sea beans; Black Truffle Risotto; Mushroom & Farro Soup with crispy enoki and guanciale; or Pumpkin Salad with leek coulis, sorrel and pistachio. Entrée choices include Turkey, roasted breast and confit thigh, chestnut stuffing, mashed sweet potato; cranberry sauce and gravy; Braised Short Ribs with creamy polenta, broccolini and cinnamon anise jus; Cone Cabbage accompanied by truffled mushroom stuffing, beet coulis, baby greens and pomegranate; or Pan Seared Halibut with scallop chowder, mussels, clams, shrimp, pearl onions and potato. Guests may also select from seasonal side dishes. Desserts for the table include Chocolate Ganache Tart, Pumpkin Crémeux, and Apple and Hazelnut Macaron with salted caramel sauce. A children's menu is also available.

Pricing is $195 for adults, $65 for children ages 5 to 12, and complimentary for children ages 4 and under, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Specialty cocktails include a White Cranberry Negroni ($20) and White Cranberry Mocktail ($16).

Thanksgiving Buffet at catalina kitchen

Thursday, November 27. Seatings from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Set against sweeping ocean views, catalina kitchen offers a festive buffet featuring an extravagant seafood bar with lobster tails, snow crab legs, scallop gratin, and ahi tuna tartare, along with a sushi station and grazing table. Guests can enjoy salads, cheeses, charcuterie, and a variety of hot appetizers. Featured entrées include Mushroom Porcini Truffle Risotto, Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo, Chilean Sea Bass, Pork Loin, Mushroom Meatloaf, and pizzas from the stone oven. The carving station showcases prime rib, roasted lamb chops, turkey breast, tomahawk steak, and Berkshire ham. Desserts include cranberry bliss mini cakes, chocolate à l'orange pot de crème, and other seasonal confections.

Pricing is $125 for adults, $50 for children ages 5 to 12, $20 for children ages 2 to 4, and complimentary for children under 2, exclusive of tax and gratuity. A specialty cocktail, the Pear Spritz ($18), will also be offered.

Thanksgiving Specials at Nelson's and bashi 

Thursday, November 27

Nelson's, known for its oceanfront patio and casual California cuisine, will serve Thanksgiving specials from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., including a Turkey Sandwich on a ciabatta bun with cranberry mayo, roasted sliced turkey, stuffing, lettuce and avocado ($29), Cranberry Curd Tart with Chantilly cream ($18), and Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée ($18). Guests may also enjoy the Turkey Lurky cocktail ($20), made with cranberry, vodka, orange juice, and orange bitters.

From 5 to 9 p.m., bashi will feature Turkey Shoyu Ramen with soft-boiled egg, shiitake mushrooms, and nori ($30), paired with a White Truffle Old Fashioned crafted with Woodford Reserve Bourbon.
