RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Thanksgiving takes on a distinctly coastal setting at Terranea Resort, where panoramic Pacific Ocean views provide the backdrop for a full day of holiday dining on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Terranea Resort's Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom sets the stage for an expansive Thanksgiving feast, with live entertainment and a buffet spanning seafood, seasonal salads, traditional holiday favorites and an elaborate dessert display. The chilled seafood selection will feature lobster, jumbo shrimp, West Coast oysters and king crab legs, while a grazing table will offer an assortment of cheeses and cured meats. Holiday classics include Roasted Turkey with gravy, Honey-Glazed Spiral-Cut Ham and Short Rib with celery root purée, accompanied by sides of Roasted Kabocha Squash, Herb-Roasted Root Vegetables, Pommes Purée and other seasonal sides. Younger guests can enjoy a dedicated children's buffet with favorites including Spaghetti and Meatballs and Chicken Tenders with tater tots. The dessert display will feature whimsical chocolate turkey and pumpkin creations alongside Pumpkin Mousse Parfait, Sweet Potato Cheesecake, Sweet Cornbread Cranberry Parfait, Mango Curd Tart and an assortment of holiday pies and other sweets.

Mar'sel Presents a Three-Course Thanksgiving Dinner

Thursday, November 26 from 2 to 7 p.m.; Live entertainment

For a more intimate Thanksgiving celebration, Terranea's signature Mar'sel, a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant, will serve a sophisticated three-course holiday dinner from Executive Chef Fabio Ugoletti. The restaurant's dramatic setting overlooking the Pacific provides a fitting backdrop for a gourmet Thanksgiving menu. First-course selections include Diver Scallop with beluga lentil, cauliflower chocolate purée and sea beans; Porcini Risotto with winter black truffle; Butternut Squash Soup; and a Kale Waldorf Salad with pomegranate, green apple and grapes. Entrées include Traditional Roasted Turkey with chestnut stuffing, mashed sweet potato and cranberry sauce; Braised Short Ribs with creamy polenta and broccolini; Chilean Sea Bass with scallop chowder, mussels, clams and shrimp; and a plant-based Cone Cabbage with truffled mushroom stuffing. Seasonal sides include Brussels Sprouts, Mashed Potatoes, Glazed Carrots and Cauliflower Gratin. Dessert is served family-style with Chocolate Ganache Tart, Pumpkin Crémeux with sticky toffee pudding, and Apple and Hazelnut Macaroon with caramel apple gelée and salted caramel sauce. A special children's menu will include macaroni and cheese, roasted turkey breast with stuffing and carrots, broccolini, gelato, sorbet and a sugar cookie.

Thanksgiving Brunch at Catalina Kitchen

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island, Catalina Kitchen will host a Thanksgiving brunch buffet with an extensive selection designed for leisurely holiday gatherings. Brunch favorites include Smoked Salmon on mini bagels, Turkey Wraps, Farmhouse Scrambled Eggs, French Toast, Pancakes, Omelets and Oatmeal, along with a grazing table of Cured Meats & California Cheeses. Guests can also enjoy Clam Chowder, Chicken Empanadas, Spring Rolls, Sushi, Seasonal Salads and Stone-Oven Pizzas. A seafood bar will feature Ahi Tuna Tartare, Tiger Shrimp and Lobster Rolls, while the carving station will offer Turkey Breast, Prime Rib and Roasted Lamb Chops. Desserts will include Caramelized Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Pumpkin Mousse Parfait. Specialty cocktails will include the Apple-Rol Spritz and Pumpkin Spice Martini.

Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet at Catalina Kitchen

Catalina Kitchen will continue the celebration into the evening with a Thanksgiving dinner buffet featuring holiday favorites alongside a broad selection of seafood, sushi, salads and seasonal dishes. The buffet will include Boursin Mashed Potatoes, Fried Brussels Sprouts, Roasted Yams with marshmallow and Cornbread Stuffing, along with Shrimp Scampi, Mushroom Meatloaf, Pork Loin with maple-pecan glaze and Mary's Chicken Thighs with a lemon-caper sauce. A seafood bar will feature Salmon Poke, Lobster Tails and Snow Crab Legs, while the carving station will offer Berkshire Ham, Sausages and Herb-Crusted Prime Rib. Guests can also enjoy a Sushi Station, Stone-Oven Pizza and a selection of salads and seasonal desserts, including Sweet Potato Cheesecake, Brown Butter Pumpkin Madeleines and German Chocolate Cake. Specialty Thanksgiving cocktails will include the Apple-Rol Spritz and Pumpkin Spice Martini.

For a more casual holiday celebration, Terranea's oceanfront Nelson's will serve Thanksgiving-inspired specials on its relaxed patio, including Turkey Enchiladas with turkey thigh, guajillo adobo sauce, rice and refried beans for $32 for adults and $15 for children ages 5 to 12. Desserts will include Caramelized Apple Custard Crepes and Pumpkin Pie, $18 each.

 

At Bashi, Terranea's Asian-inspired restaurant, the Thanksgiving special will feature Pan-Roasted Duck Breast with wasabi salsa and ponzu for $38. The Rosemary Fig Whiskey Sour will be available for $24, alongside seasonal desserts including Baked Layered Cheesecake with five-spice pumpkin custard and cranberry compote for $18.

 

Terranea's Lobby Bar will offer holiday desserts including Sweet Cornbread Cranberry Parfait and Pumpkin Pie, $18 each.
