TERRANEA RESORT KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING AND GINGERBREAD HUT
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Terranea Resort will usher in the holiday season with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 28, followed by the return of its popular holiday pop-up, this year reimagined as the Gingerbread Hut. The oceanfront resort will welcome guests and the Palos Verdes community throughout the holiday season with festive programming, seasonal treats and family-friendly activities.

Saturday, November 28 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Terranea's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will officially launch the holiday season with the lighting of a 30-foot holiday tree adorned with hundreds of ornaments, lights and a brilliant star. The celebration will feature caroling and dance performances by local arts groups, along with holiday activities for families.
Guests can take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy rides aboard a festive trackless train and send postcards to Santa's North Pole workshop. Seasonal refreshments will include hot chocolate and cider stations, decorated cookies available for purchase, grab-and-go bites and a cash bar. Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy donation for Toys for Tots.
Tickets are $32 for ages 13+, and $15 for ages 5-12 (exclusive of fees); complimentary for 4 and under. Advanced registration is required due to limited attendance. Guests can register here.
Gingerbread Hut at Terranea Lobby Lounge
Starting Saturday, November 28, to Saturday, January 2; weekdays from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 10 p.m.
Terranea's holiday pop-up returns as the Gingerbread Hut, a coastal-inspired 7-by-7-foot structure crafted from more than 1,000 pounds of house-made gingerbread. The hut features a functional bar and is decorated with gumdrops, candy canes, royal icing, gingerbread surfboards and other coastal-inspired confectionery details. Nearby, a separate beach-themed gingerbread village adds to the whimsical holiday setting.
The seasonal cocktail menu leads with tropical-inspired creations, including the Aloha, Catalina Mai Tai, made with Kuleana Huihui and Nanea rums, Myers's Original Dark Rum, pineapple, macadamia orgeat and lime, and the Mele Kalikimaka Mule, made with Tito's Handmade Vodka, guava, lime, hot honey and Fever-Tree Ginger Beer. Surfin' Santa's Cocoa, a zero-proof option, features house-made hot cocoa, whipped cream and a chocolate candy cane. Guests also can enjoy a selection of festive sweets, including gingerbread men, holiday cookies, tropical fruit bark, caramel apples, brownies, pineapple rum upside-down cake, Sacher torte and chocolate fruit bars, along with mocha peppermint hot chocolate mix.
