From Sips and Sunsets to Crabby Sundays to the Terranea Food and Wine Festival and More
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Luxury oceanfront destination Terranea Resort is turning up the heat on summer with a robust lineup of culinary programming designed to showcase the breadth of its acclaimed dining experiences - from refined coastal cuisine at Mar'sel and wellness-driven fare at Solviva to casual oceanfront bites at Nelson's and elevated cocktails overlooking the Pacific.
Launching May 15, the resort's seasonal culinary offerings invite both resort guests and locals to experience everything from Champagne tastings and tequila pairings to seafood boils, live music events and chef-driven wine dinners - all set against the backdrop of the Palos Verdes coastline.
"Terranea has become a true culinary destination in Southern California, offering guests a diverse collection of dining experiences that reflect both the resort's coastal setting and California's vibrant food culture," said Nick Untermann, general manager of the 102-acre resort. Sips and Sunsets on the Lobby Terrace
Beginning Friday May 15; continuing every Friday and Saturday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Timed to coincide with golden hour over the Pacific, Sips and Sunsets offers fine wines such as Veuve Clicquot ‘Yellow Label' Champagne, Grenache & Cinsault Rosé and Domaine Vocoret Et Fils Chablis, all to be sipped with seasonal bites while listening to live music and savoring sunset views.
Casamigos Terrace on Lobby Terrace
Beginning Friday, May 15; continuing daily, from 2 to 10 p.m.
Overlooking the Pacific, the Casamigos pop-up on the Lobby Terrace offers exceptionally smooth tequila-forward cocktails, including the Summer Twilight made with Casamigos reposado, orgeat, lime, peach schnapps, pomegranate and mint, and Flight with Friends, featuring 1-ounce pours of blanco, reposado, anejo and mezcal. Chef-curated small plates are designed to complement the tequila expressions and include Shrimp Taco with bacon, bell pepper and chipotle aioli, Short Rib Empanada, Octopus Agua Chili with cucumber, lime, serrano and onion and other choices.
Crabby Sundays on the Sunset Bluff at Nelson's
Beginning Sunday, May 24; continuing every Sunday, from 3 to 7 p.m.
At Nelson's, the resort's signature blufftop restaurant, Crabby Sundays offers an interactive, coastal dining experience centered on customizable seafood boils, live music and ocean views.
Guests can "Build Your Boil" with shellfish for two, choosing from peel-and-eat shrimp, snow crab clusters, whole lobster or Dungeness crab clusters (priced accordingly), all served with a mixed green salad. The menu also features New England clam chowder, shrimp ceviche, a selection of seasonal sides and a dedicated kids' menu.
To complement the seafood-forward offerings, the beverage program includes specialty cocktails such as the Hawaiian Margarita with pineapple and agave and the West Coast Peach with Bulleit Bourbon, lemon, peach and iced tea, along with additional seasonal cocktails, Three Weavers beers and select wines by the glass. Live music enhances the laid-back, seaside atmosphere throughout the experience.
Sound Series on Sunset Bluff at Nelson's
Beginning June 5, every Friday and Saturday, from 6 to 10 p.m.
Guests can enjoy sunset concerts alongside casual summer fare, craft beer and specialty cocktails inspired by the season. The Sound Series menu offers a Giant Pretzel with a cheese sauce, The Bluff Dog is a bacon wrapped hot dog on a brioche hoagie roll, Lobster Quesadilla with pico de gallo and other great bites. Thirst-quenching special cocktails include Blue Butterfly Lemondrop concocted with Ketel One Citroen Vodka, blueberry, lemon and butterfly pea flowers, and Coastal Cantarito made with Tanteo blanco tequila, citrus, and Fever-Tree Grapefruit Soda. There's also Three Weavers ‘Seafarer' Kolsch and Three Weavers ‘Expatriate' IPA.
From Vine to Ocean Wine Dinners at Mar'sel
GAJA Winery Dinner on Thursday, June 25, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., $554 per person
Award-winning Chef Fabio Ugoletti collaborates with GAJA Winery, one of Italy's most iconic estates rooted in the hills of Piedmont. The Chef's exceptional menu has been created to honor the elegance and timeless character of GAJA fine wines. This one-of-a-kind gourmet experience is served in lovely Mar'sel above the ocean.
Shafer Vineyards Dinner on Thursday, August 6, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., $267 per guest
This special Napa-inspired evening showcases the renowned wines of Shafer Vineyards from the Stag's Leap District. They are powerful, yet refined wines crafted with precision and care. The chef-driven seasonal dinner has been designed to highlight the harmony between bold California wine expression and Terranea's stunning coastal setting.
Third Annual Food and Wine Festival at Terranea
Sunday, July 26, from noon to 4 p.m.
The season culminates with the resort's Third Annual Food & Wine Festival, transforming The Meadows and Palos Verdes Terrace into an immersive culinary showcase for guests 21 and older. The event will feature signature dishes from Terranea's collection of restaurants alongside offerings from regional chefs, wineries and breweries, complemented by live entertainment from AstroYachts.
