TERRANEA RESORT UNVEILS A SUMMER OF COASTAL DISCOVERY WITH STARGAZING, NATURE-LED ADVENTURES AND OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES

 

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - This summer, Terranea Resort invites guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience the stunning beauty of the California coast through a new collection of land and sea immersive outdoor experiences - including stargazing, full moon and goat yoga, kayaking tours, falconry and much more.

 

According to the resort's general manager, Nick Untermann, this seasonal programming is designed to immerse guests in the resort's dramatic oceanfront setting - embracing the growing popularity of "soft adventure" and slow, sensory-focused travel. "People are craving experiences that allow them to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the natural world," said Untermann. "Whether it's spotting Saturn's rings for the first time, hiking along the coastal bluffs or participating in outdoor wellness activities with friends, Terranea is creating immersive moments that inspire wonder, connection and discovery."

 

Select highlights of the resort's summer programming include:

 

A Celestial Experience

Leading the season's new offerings is the resort's expanded Stargazing Tour of the Night Sky, launching May 23 and held every other Saturday evening at scenic Catalina Point. Guided by the resort's resident astronomer and astrophotographer Mirko Maher, the experience invites guests to explore galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and planets through advanced-technology telescopes while enjoying fireside s'mores, hot chocolate, tea and coffee beneath the Pacific sky. Terranea's new celestial programming allows guests to photograph the moon and planets directly through the telescope, while adults may enjoy the resort's colorful specialty "Starlight" cocktail crafted with Tito's vodka, mango, lemon, coconut water and butterfly pea tea.

 

Maher, a visual astronomer and engineer who has led stargazing experiences at the resort for four years, brings an accessible and engaging approach to astronomy, helping guests of all experience levels discover the magic of the night sky. The resort will introduce curated stargazing kits for villa guests later this summer, further enhancing the overnight astrotourism experience.

 

Social Connection

Terranea is expanding its summer programming with a fresh lineup of wellness-focused group activities designed to foster social connection and shared experiences. Created to inspire conviviality and multi-generational fun, the new offerings include Neon Rush laser tag on the Ocean Lawn, Coastal Resin Board workshops, Silent Disco Nights and Goat Yoga experiences, alongside live outdoor music performances overlooking the coast.

 

Outdoor Discovery

Terranea's Experience Center offers an array of unforgettable activities. Guests can explore the coastline through self-guided nature walks, standup paddleboarding excursions, tide pooling, archery and a variety of ocean adventures showcasing the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Unique experiences like archery tag, private falconry encounters, guided coastal hikes and plein air painting sessions provide endless ways to connect with nature.

 

For Sports Enthusiasts
