Mike Hill, PGA

Director of Golf Operations

Mike Hill has over 10 years of experience in the golf business. Prior to The Links at Terranea, he worked at the SCPGA section office, Mesa Verde Country Club, and Tustin Ranch Golf Club. With over 5,000 lessons taught, Mike draws on his vast experience to help get the most out of your golf game. He believes that The Links at Terranea embodies the spirit of the game. Many times he has seen three generations tee up together on The Links and it reminds him of learning the game with his own dad and grandfather and the excitement that golf gave him. That passion and zeal for golf is something that drew Mike to the golf business and is something he looks forward to carrying on with you and your family. As a golf instructor at The Links, he believes in helping you find or amplify your appetite for the game while keeping it fun. Mike’s focus is to help guests discover their own natural swing as well as working on client’s short game and putting to help them reach their goals.

Bobby Barrett, PGA Apprentice

A native of New Hampshire, Bobby Barrett has over 8 years of experience in the golf industry, and has worked in many different areas of the golf business before joining Terranea in 2013. As the 1st Assistant Golf Professional Bobby is an assistant manager of the department with an emphasis on tournament operations. Bobby’s passion for golf started at a very young age and he carries that same passion with him today. Bobby is currently a Level 2 apprentice with the PGA and is working towards completion of his credential in 2018.

Keith Kimura

Keith followed his love for golf and decided to make it his second career. His outstanding customer service skills earned him an invitation to bring that same caring spirit and passion into a teaching career as an Asst. Instructor for the Junior Golf Academy at Dominguez Hills Golf Course and The Long Beach Golf and Learning Center. Here, at the Links at Terranea, he continues to share that spirit and passion as a Beginning Level Instructor and Assistant Instructor for Junior Academy. Keith also assists in managing the golf operations to ensure the highest quality of service for every guest experience.

David Sorenson

Assistant Golf Professional
Retail Specialist

David honed his sales, leadership, and customer service skills as a retail manager for almost 10 years. Recognizing the trend toward online shopping David felt he needed a career change. With the support of his wife and family, David enrolled as a full-time student at The Golf Academy of America in Carlsbad. He earned his AA degree in Golf Complex Operations Management, graduating as his class valedictorian in August 2015. In his roles as Golf Retail Coordinator and Assistant Golf Professional at Terranea, David takes pride in keeping the Golf House stocked and well maintained. He also enjoys teaching young golfers in ‘The Links’ junior programs.

Daniel Vojta

Assistant Golf Professional

Born and raised in Chicago, IL., Daniel developed a love for the game as a youth. Daniel competed in the Illinois High School State Golf Finals and the NCAA Division 1 regional college tournament twice. Fulfilling a life-long dream, Daniel turned pro in 2007. He competed on several tours including the Gateway Tour for three years. Throughout that time, he has been taught by Chuck Lynch, Rick Silva, Pat Goss and Gregor Jameison and uses that experience in his teaching. As a golf instructor Daniel strives to share his joy and passion in working with the youth; and communicating simple, practical advice to all ages of golfers.
