Free Outdoor Activities in Los Angeles: Pointe Discovery Complimentary Hikes
Terranea’s activity center, Pointe Discovery, is adding another wonderful hike to their weekend line-up. Looking at Tinsletown Through Terranea will be added to the schedule, along with Memories of Marineland, The Art of Terranea Walking Tour, and Living Landscapes of Terranea. All of these hikes are open to the public and are free of charge. Please see below for more detailed information on each of the walking tours.
MEMORIES OF MARINELAND
Saturday, 10:00am
This one hour walking tour paints a picture of the historic oceanarium, Marineland, and tells the stories that keep it alive at Terranea Resort.

THE ART OF TERRANEA WALKING TOUR
Saturday, 4:00pm
This one hour walking tour showcases Terranea’s unique art placed throughout the property. Terranea’s art collection includes paintings by the Portuguese Bend Artist Colony whose passions for “en plein air,” a French expression for “in the open air” captures the beauty of the Peninsula. The tour also covers traditional and postmodern pieces. Terranea’s art collection is very diverse and has mediums ranging from water colors, mixed medias, oil paint and everything in between.

LIVING LANDSCAPES OF TERRANEA
Sunday, 10:00am
This one hour walking tour explores the wonderful lush history of plants around the resort and why they were chosen for the property. The tour supplies knowledge about the plants and conveys their importance to the native animals - including the endangered Palos Verdes Blue Butterfly and the California Gnatcatcher.

This one hour guided walking tour will talk about the history and present partnership that Palos Verdes and Terranea has with Hollywood’s movie and TV magic.
