Terranea Resort Offers Gourmet New Year’s Eve Meals To Go
(December 28, 2020) Terranea Resort invites guests to celebrate New Year’s Eve with a traditional or vegetarian gourmet meal to go, designed to promote a safe, memorable, and effortless holiday with loved ones.
The New Year’s Eve bountiful and festive feasts, prepared by Terranea's award-winning chefs, incorporates a fresh approach and an emphasis on seasonal and local ingredients. The traditional dinner menu ($200 per person or $265 with wine pairing) features an Ocean Water-Poached Pacific Shrimp Cocktail with house-crafted cocktail sauce, locally harvested giant kelp, Meyer lemon, and pickled watermelon rind, paired with La Fleur D'Or Sauternes Sauvignon Blanc; Wood Mushroom Winter Salad with mixed greens, Belgium endives, grilled porcini, sautéed chanterelles, shiitake, and a roasted walnut sherry vinaigrette, paired with Patz & Hall Dutton Ranch Chardonnay; choice of Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb, Beef Tenderloin, Butter-Poached Lobster Tail, or Surf and Turf with truffle mashed potato, roasted Jerusalem artichokes, and root vegetables, paired with Daou Cabernet Sauvignon; dessert includes Chocolate Decadent Triumph Parfait with dark chocolate, sea salt, caramel or Winter Berry Fruit Tart with short bread crust, white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, and berries; and a selection of Mignardises including a sea salt caramel truffle, pate de fruit, chocolate and peanut butter truffle, and mini key lime tartlet, paired with Kendall Jackson Late Harvest Chardonnay.
The Vegetarian Dinner menu ($145 per person or $210 with wine pairing) features Asparagus Velouté, with farm avocado and heart of palm relish, extra virgin avocado oil, paired with La Fleur D'Or Sauternes Sauvignon Blanc; Forest Mushroom Winter Salad with mixed greens, Belgian endives, grilled porcini, sautéed chanterelles and shiitake, and a roasted walnut, sherry vinaigrette, paired with Patz & Hall Dutton Ranch Chardonnay; Moroccan Vegetable Tagine in Brick Pastry with roasted leek and harissa sauce with truffle mashed potato, roasted Jerusalem artichokes, and root vegetables, paired with Daou Cabernet Sauvignon; Meyer Lemon Cheesecake with Meyer lemon, figs, cashew nuts and cocoa butter; Mignardises include assorted compressed fruits, and pate de fruits, paired with Kendall Jackson Late Harvest Chardonnay.
Additional offerings to accompany and enhance with meals include Assorted Canapés and Tapas such as smoked salmon, bocconcini with truffles and basil, steak tartare, focaccia with herbs and tomato, chickpea and carrot hummus on romaine hearts ($70) accompanied by a vodka pomegranate cocktail ($14) or Billecart Salmon Rose champagne toast ($32); a selection of Domestic and Imported Meat and Cheeses including Terranea’s own crafted jamon, chorizo pamplona, sopressata, prosciutto di parma, Alsatian garlic sausage, quince paste, honey comb, roasted nuts, house-churned butter, marinated Palos Verdes Peninsula olives, house-pickled vegetables, and assorted breads ($80); a Deconstructed Seafood Tower with king crab legs, snow crab claws, Pacific shrimp, lump crabmeat salad, and California bay scallops ceviche ($100 for two, $200 for four); and California Caviar with toast points and blinis ($120).
