On Saturday, November 25, at 1 p.m., Terranea Resort unveils its holiday, one-of-a-kind, walk-up merrily decorated pop-up Gingerbread Lounge - located in the resort's Mediterranean-style Lobby Lounge. The impressive seven-by-seven-foot gingerbread masterpiece will be adorned with gumdrops and candy canes featuring a functioning bar and an accompanying village complete with two trees and fencing fabricated from 1,000 pounds of house-made gingerbread and "painted" with royal icing. Guests are invited to sip special signature holiday cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages such as hot chocolate and hot apple cider and enjoy special menu items such as Chai Coffeecake, Maple Pecan Bourbon Pie and Sambuca and Chocolate Almond Biscotti and sweets created by Jermonti and his team. Visiting children can write a postcard to Santa and crunch on complimentary cookies. Everyone will enjoy live music in the Lobby daily from 7 to 11 p.m.

This fantastical gingerbread pastry bar and village extravaganza is inspired by two experiences - a coastal environment with the whimsical influences of a "village by the sea" and by the traditional hometown Calabrian family creations remembered by acclaimed executive pastry chef Pierino Jermonti. The chef's background even includes an elaborate "competitive" gingerbread community effort that gained the attention of the Vatican, and the Pope himself visited the creation one year.

Magical Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Terranea's Front Drive Fountain

Saturday, November 25, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Terranea Resort officially heralds in the holiday season by cordially inviting guests from far and near and the whole Palos Verdes community to participate in all the oceanfront festive merrymaking with complimentary admission to its joyous lighting of a majestic 30-foot dazzling holiday tree with its glittering star topper. The event features entertainment, including caroling by The Joanna Medawar Nachef Singers and a performance from "The Nutcracker" by the San Pedro Ballet School. Memorable family fun takes place when kids are photographed taking a pretend sleighride with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. There will be a sleek Lexus vehicle on display ribboned as a Christmas gift and reindeer petting. Guests of all ages are invited to send personalized postcards directly to Santa's Workshop at the North Pole. The resort's Gingerbread House Decorating Kit is offered for creating fun-at-home - with frosting, candies and more. For refreshments, hot chocolate and hot apple cider stations will be available, as well as a cash bar, gingerbread cookie decorating, and decorated cookies will be on-sale. To add to the fun, there will be s'mores by the fire and a popcorn machine.

Admission is complimentary; attendees are kindly asked to donate an unwrapped gift to Toys for Tots.

"Deck Your Stay" Room Décor Packages

For guests spending wonderful holiday time in a luxurious resort Casita or Villa accommodation, the Deck Your Stay offering features choices of Fa-La-La Festive, which delivers a front door wreath, medium centerpiece and scented votives for $505; the Sleigh Bells and Whistles offering features front door wreath, six-foot garland, various sized centerpieces, potpourri, scented votives, table linens and runner, dining set of napkins and chargers for $1,782; additional charge for Christmas trees and stockings. And a Deck Your Stay package for stays between November 21 to 26 and December 21 to January 2, 2024, includes a $600 resort credit.

Succulent Wreath Workshop

Every Sunday throughout December from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

At Terranea's pointe discovery, guests can create a festive and unique succulent wreath to take home for holiday decorating. A skilled activity leader will assist, and price includes all materials and instruction.

Festive Fun at Terranea's Kids' Club

Throughout December during the day and on Sunday, December 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Young guests staying at Terranea Resort are invited to take part in festive activities at the resort's Kids' Club during December. Holiday fun includes ornament decorating and other seasonal arts and crafts projects during sessions designed for ages four to 12. For the special Kids' Club New Year's Eve celebration, kids from three to 12 are welcomed to a special dinner, bounce house, double feature movie and even a lively countdown to 2024.

Winter Solstice Hike

Thursday, December 21, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Hikers meet outside Pointe Discovery to embark on a four-mile guided hiking tour along the enchanting Alta Vicente Trail to end at historic Point Vicente Lighthouse. This is a wonderful excursion for hikers seeking lots of adventure and plenty of picturesque Pacific views.

Ho-Ho-Hole In One Putting at The Links

Sunday, December 24 to Sunday, December 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Season's greetings from the green at award-winning The Links oceanfront course. Visitors ages six and up can practice their putting game with a variety of slopes, plateaus and ridges, complete with some festive obstacles.
