THE ICONIC SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RESORT ADDITIONALLY RECEIVED RECOGNITION FOR ITS SUPERIOR ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PRACTICES AND EXCEPTIONAL FEMALE LEADERSHIP IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

(December 5, 2019) — The California Hotel & Lodging Association (CHLA) awarded Terranea Resort its prestigious "Community Service Award" at this year's Stars of the Industry celebration, a recognition honoring hotel properties that demonstrate outstanding responsiveness to their local community. At large, the annual celebration recognizes lodging employees and properties that "best embody the quality service standards of the industry." CHLA further recognized Terranea Resort and its associates in multiple categories, including naming Director of Housekeeping Liza Acosta as a finalist for the "WIL Connect Leader of the Year Award" and nominating the hotel for its green-minded "Good Earthkeeping Award."

"It is an honor to be recognized by our industry peers for the commitment we make to act as meaningful advocates for our community and associates," says Terranea Resort President Terri A. Haack. "I am beyond proud of my team, for associates like Liza, who acts with integrity and empowering those around her every day, and Sustainability Leader Lauren Bergloff, who has championed efforts to minimize the resort's environmental footprint and continues to lead initiatives like our ‘20/20/20' commitment to reduce energy and water use and overall waste."

Celebrating its milestone 10th anniversary this year, Terranea Resort remains committed to the philanthropic ethos on which it was founded: to preserve the natural, cultural, and historical integrity of its environment and act as advocates for the local community and its associates. This is evident through the many charitable efforts at the forefront of Terranea's programming, including but not limited to their robust support of Chefs to End Hunger, The Midnight Mission, Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Toys for Tots, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, The Peninsula Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and Rainbow Services.
