Terranea Resort Turns Pink For National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In Support of Breast Cancer research, Terranea Introduces October Activities and Offerings to Give Back

Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. (September 21, 2016) – In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Terranea Resort, A Destination Hotel, is proud to introduce their inaugural resort-wide pink property offerings for the month of October. The 102-acre oceanfront resort will transform into a pink oasis with pink resort programming, pink lighting, a pink Rosé and light bite upon arrival, and even an abundance of pink flowers. Partnering with the local Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach, Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County and national Play for P.I.N.K., benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), Terranea’s guests have the chance to enjoy the resort and give back at the same time. A select portion of proceeds from on-property activities, amenities and accommodations will be donated to support the cause.


Specialty offerings at Terranea in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month include:


  • ·         Play for P.I.N.K. Room Package: During October, when the Play for P.I.N.K. rate is booked Terranea will donate 10 percent of proceeds to Play for P.I.N.K., benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF). Guests will be welcomed with Chardonnay by ONEHOPE, the resort’s choice of wine that fundraises for breast cancer research, as well as a pink macaroon plate. *Rate code: PINK16


  • ·         Dining: Sprinkling pink throughout the resort’s restaurants, chefs will don pink coats at all of Terranea’s dining venues. Guests can enjoy a limited-time Pink Strawberry Lemonade cupcake and The Pink Dove cocktail. For every Pink Dove cocktail sold, $1 will be donated to Play for P.I.N.K.


  • ·         The Spa: Douse in pink from head to toe at The Spa with a pink manicure and pedicure to show support. Guests can also enjoy the remineralizing Himalayan pink sea salt body scrub, a rejuvenating treatment for a fresh start to fall. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach.


  • ·         The Links: The green will have a touch of pink this October, with The Links switching to pink golf flags on each hole and offering a specialty pink retail selection, from golf balls to shoes. The resort will also donate $1 per round of golf bought in October toSusan G. Komen Los Angeles County.


  • ·         Adventure Concierge: From kayaking to horseback riding, every play made makes a difference. For each activity booked in October, Terranea will donate $5 to Play for P.I.N.K.


  • ·         Retail: Terranea’s retail venues, marea, pointe discovery and The Spa boutique, will offer a customized selection of pink jewelry, candles and beauty products for guests to purchase that will support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a portion of proceeds supporting Play for P.I.N.K. 


Signature events at Terranea in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month include:


  • ·         ONEHOPE Sunset Ritual (Oct. 7): Set at The Lobby Bar terrace, the Sunset Ritual invites guests to unwind with a ONEHOPE wine tasting during the ringing of crystal singing bowls, an ancient ritual known for healing and relaxation through a vibration, bringing harmony and well-being to all who hear it. ONEHOPE is committed to making a social impact with half of its proceeds donated to a variety of causes, including breast cancer research.


  • ·         Birdies for Breast Cancer (Oct. 9): Join Terranea’s fight for breast cancer at the annual Birdies for Breast Cancer event at The Links, where a portion of the proceeds are donated to Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach. Teams of five will compete in 18 holes of ocean golf with special contest holes and prize opportunities including a $25,000 Hole in One Prize. Participants will be treated to a luncheon and marketplace on the golf lawn, live music, food & wine tasting and more. *$199 for golf tournament; $100 for luncheon and marketplace only; limited number of sponsorships are available.


  • ·         Chef’s Table Dinner (Oct. 13): At the bi-monthly Chef’s Table Dinner, guests can enjoy a seasonally themed Wine Harvest menu, curated from locally and sustainably foraged ingredients and prepared by Executive Chef Bernard Ibarra and Terranea’s award-winning chefs. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Play for P.I.N.K.


  • ·         Full Moon Yoga (Oct. 15): Taking place under the autumn full moon on the ocean, yoga lovers are invited to Terranea for a Full Moon Yoga Gathering by the sea. Yogis of all levels are welcome, and participants are asked to wear pink attire, bring a yoga mat and $20 for contribution to this month’s chosen local charity, Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach.


Additionally, Elite Travel International has proudly partnered to support Terranea’s fundraising initiative.
