At The Spa at Terranea, couples may indulge themselves with a specialty massage or signature treatments alongside the warmth of a glowing fireplace. Every great Valentine’s Day is marked with a romantic dinner. For the special evening and throughout the weekend, Terranea’s restaurants offer a variety of specialty menus to please any palate.

 

  • PASSIONATE PRIX FIXE AT MAR’SEL: Terranea’s award-winning signature restaurant mar’sel presents a prix fixe menu, created by Chef de Cuisine Charles Olalia, priced at $160 per person. Diners may choose their own 3-course menu, beginning with a selection of appetizers, including Smoke Kissed Salmon Tartare with caviar and crème fraiche cigars, and Rainbow Beet Ravioli with red ribbon sorrel, herbed goat cheese and walnut toffee. The entrée selection includes Atlantic Black Bass with brown satsuki rice and nori tapenade, Vanilla-scented Lobster with pommes mousseline and braised salsify, Pomegranate-glazed Duck Breast with quince confit and black pepper gastrique, A5 Wagyu Beef with vegetable ash and yuzu ponzu, and Spaghetti Rustichella with black trumpet mushrooms and Perigold truffles. Finish the meal with a selection of delectable desserts, including Tropical Fruit Pavlova with passion fruit cremeaux, Schezuan peppercorn sorbet and meringue kisses, or “Devil in Prada” with Valrhona chocolate ganache, toasted hazelnut moelleux and rose hip crème glacee. mar’sel access on Feb 14, is only available to guests who book the Valentine’s Day Getaway Package.   • PERFECT PAIR AT NELSON'S: The popular cliff-side eatery Nelson’s features a Valentine’s Day dinner for two, with beer pairings to accompany. Diners will awaken taste buds with an Artichoke Salad paired with Golden Road Brewery’s Hefeweizen, followed by Surf and Turf of flat iron steak and bacon wrapped scallops paired with Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale, and finishing with a special dessert from Executive Pastry Chef Pierino Jermonti paired with Stone Brewery’s Smoked Porter. The menu is available on Feb. 14 for $99 per couple.

 

  • CATALINA KITCHEN:  Catalina Kitchen has created a unique a la carte menu to showcase Chef de Cuisine David Tarrin’s classic Mediterranean fare.  The menu features starters of Heirloom Beets Salad with Humboldt Fog, wild baby arugula, candied pecans with orange honey vinaigrette ($12), and Burrata with celery leaf pesto and grilled toast ($14). The entrée selection offers diners one “from the land,” a Braised Short Rib with lemon gremolata and ricotta ravioli ($42), one “from the sea,” Northern Halibut with French beans, fennel Dungeness crab salad, and lemon white truffle vinaigrette ($39), and one “in-between,” a Pepper-crusted Filet Mignon and Maine lobster tail with roasted fingerling potatoes and baby arugula ($65). Diners can top off the meal with warm chocolate cookie for two, baked in Catalina Kitchen’s stone oven, and topped with chocolate and vanilla ice cream ($16). The specialty menu is available on Feb. 14.

 

  • INDULGE AT BASHI: bashi, Terranea’s contemporary-Asian restaurant, will offer a specialty a la carte menu created by Chef de Cuisine Bruce Nguyen, including items such as: Bashi Egg Shooters ($26), Geoduck Sashimi ($29), Pan Roasted Liberty Farms Duck Breast with duck confit crepés ($34), Tempura Atlantic Lobster Tail with Dungeness crab sticky rice and lobster sauce ($39), Steamed New Zealand Snapper Filet with king oyster mushrooms and shrimp dumplings ($32), and Five Spice Braised Snake River Farms Wagyu Shortrib with crispy rice and broccolini ($41). For dessert, guests may indulge with Green Tea Crème Brulee ($10) or Coconut Cream Pearl Tapioca ($11). The specialty menu is available on Feb. 14.

 

  • SWEET TREATS AT SEA BEANS: sea beans offers a range of sweets to-go, including heart shaped boxes filled with handmade chocolates, a selection of truffles, including hazelnut, chocolate caramel sea salt, and dark chocolate cherry, and an assortment of macaroons, fruit jellies and tiramisu in chocolate cups, all house made by Executive Pastry Chef Pierino Jermonti. A variety of 4” and 9” cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, and fruit tarts will be available as well. Custom orders may be placed to create the perfect sweet treat for your sweetheart. The specialty dessert offerings will be available throughout the month of February. Sweet and savory custom picnic baskets are also available on Valentine’s Day.

 

To ensure the perfect date night while parents dine at one of Terranea’s celebrated restaurants, children ages 2-12 can enjoy fun of their own at the Tide Pool Kids Club. The program is offered every Friday and Saturday night during the month of February, including Valentine's Day. Advance reservations are required.
