Terranea Resort Hosts Annual Peninsula Olive Celebration on October 4, 2018
VICE PRESIDENT OF CULINARY EXPERIENCES AND EXECUTIVE CHEF BERNARD IBARRA DEMONSTRATES OLIVE OIL PRESSING AND OLIVE CURING DEMONSTRATIONS ALONGSIDE A THREE-COURSE, OLIVE-THEMED CHEF’S TABLE DINNER TO BENEFIT THE PEOPLE CONCERN CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
(Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; September 20, 2018)—Terranea Resort, A Destination Hotel, hosts the annual Peninsula Olive Celebration on Thursday, October 4, 2018. From 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Terranea’s Palos Verdes Circle Drive, guests are invited to partake in the pressing of olive oil and olive curing with Terranea’s team of chefs, led by Vice President of Culinary Experiences and Executive Chef Bernard Ibarra. Using olives that will be picked earlier in the morning from nearby Villa Oneiro vineyard & orchard, guests will enjoy complimentary tastes of olive oil made from the orchard’s more than 70 Mediterranean varietals. A pop-up marketplace and bar will feature gifts and treats such as pastries, cakes, tapenades, martinis, flavored olive oils, wine from Villa Oneiro, and more, all centered around olives.
At 6:00 p.m., visitors are encouraged to continue the olive fete at the bi-monthly Chef’s Table Dinner ($240++/person), an intimate Farm-to-Terranea dining experience, celebrating locally and sustainably grown and foraged ingredients, prepared by Terranea’s award-winning chefs. The dinner begins with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, followed by an olive-themed, three-course dinner paired with a selection of wines from Silver Oak Winery in Napa Valley. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner will benefit The People Concern social services foundation. Tickets available for purchase online (must be purchased in advance). Must be 21 and over to attend.

- Olive Oil Poached Tuna Niçoise Salad with Tapenade Aioli, Wax Beans, Tomatoes, New Potatoes, Little Gem Lettuce at Nelson's
- Hamachi Carpaccio with Kalamata Olives, Shaved Serrano Peppers, Masago Micro Wasabi, and Ponzu Vinaigrette at bashi
- Manzanilla Olive Gilds Pintxo at catalina kitchen
- Olive Oil Poached Lobster with Nuduja Brussel Sprout Salad, and Shaved Persimmon at mar'sel
- Olive Oil Gelato at sea beans
