The Rising Leader Council is part of the HSMAI's respective Advisory Board's work to cultivate the next generation of industry leaders by providing a unique opportunity for emerging professionals to advance their skill sets, shape the future of HSMAI, network with peers, and contribute to the industry and the Advisory Board via their insights, feedback, and thought leadership.

Hilary Feutz, Director of Digital & Communications Strategy at Terranea Resort, has been appointed to the Rising Marketing Leader Council. In her role at Terranea, she is responsible for developing, managing and executing strategic brand communications to achieve measurable and impactful results that support revenue generation, engagement and enhanced awareness for the resort. Feutz is also instrumental in expanding the resort's strategic alliance base, developing and supporting the public relations strategy, social media, reputation management, digital and experiential marketing and content strategy functions. She is a member of Visit California's Editorial Committee, a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association's ForWard Ambassador Program, a Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM) by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International, and a member of the resort's Green Team. Feutz has been recognized as Terranea Resort's Leader of the Quarter, HSMAI Best of the Best Rising Star Nominee, and Two Roads Hospitality Rising Star Nominee.

Nicole Lazo, Catering Sales Manager at Terranea Resort, has been appointed to the Rising Sales Leader Council. In her role at Terranea, she serves as an integral part of the sales and catering departments.  Lazo specializes in working with brides and grooms, high-end wedding planners, and catering icons. She is president of the Wedding & Event Heroes (WEHEROES) team, a wedding and event vendor think tank, hosting monthly meetings to educate, network, and develop professional relationships in the wedding industry. Lazo's passion, attention to detail, and unique ability to create a connection serves as a key differentiator within the industry.
