Champagne and Sparkling Wine

The champagne is flowing at Terranea! Learn about the bubbly offerings at mar'sel right now from our sommelier

February is all about drinking bubbles while toasting to love and awards season in Los Angeles! At Terranea we are offering many variations of Champagne and sparkling wine to celebrate.

At mar’sel, we are currently pouring:

Domaine Chandon "Brut Classic"- According to Wine Enthusiast this champagne has "a nice, everyday bubbly that offers elegance at an affordable price. Chardonnay contributes crisp flavors of limes, while Pinot Noir brings deeper flavors of cherries. A lovely wine that grows in the glass. "

Andreola Prosecco di Valdobbiadene"Dirupo" – Delicate, floral and fruity with an elegant lingering fine perlage (a French term for the beads in a sparkling wine; the finer the pearl, the better the quality). This champagne is excellent with entrees and pairs well with all dishes, including fish.

Schramsberg "Blanc de Blancs" Brut - Blanc de Blancs (white from white) made from Chardonnay is the counterpart to the Blanc de Noirs (white from black), made from Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was America’s first commercially produced, Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine at the historic “Toast to Peace” in Beijing, China.

Piper-Heidsieck Brut - According to Wine Spectator, this champagne offers "vibrant acidity and flavors of toasted brioche, crushed blackberry, candied ginger and salted almond ride the fine, satiny texture of this harmonious Champagne, which features a fresh, graphite-tinged finish. "

Veuve Clicquot "Yellow Label" Brut NV - Wine Enthusiast claims that this is one of the most familiar of Champagnes. “It has both fresh and fragrant fruit as well as richness, a soft, creamy texture and bright acidity. There is no sense in bottle aging here—drink this wine because of its crispness."

Il Mosnel Franciacorta Brut Rose - After at least 24 months on the lees, the Brut Rosé is worked to compact the sediment against the temporary stopper and then disgorged and packed. It is distinguished by its exuberant mousse with fine perlage, and elegant, delicate aroma and persistent, characterized by fresh, fruity notes, with mellow shades of red fruits.

Massimo Rivetti Moscato d'Asti – A sweet and velvety champagne with an extraordinary recollection to the taste of fresh.

If you are joining us for our special Valentine’s Day menu at Valentine’s Day, you can enjoy from the following selections:

Ruinart Blanc de Blancs NV - Wine Enthusiast - "White flower and pear aromas offer a wine that is mineral, nervy, vibrating with the freshest white fruits and lemon juice. It is concentrated, showing strong signs of toast, mature flavors, while keeping great richness."

Ruinart Brut Rose NV - Wine Spectator - "A pretty rosé, harmonious and lithe, with flavors of dried strawberry and smoke carrying on a fine bead and intermingling with the accents of toasted almond, ground anise, pastry and dried apricot. Fresh and focused, presenting a lasting finish of smoke, ripe fruit and rich pastry."
