(Dec. 1, 2015) Terranea Resort, A Destination Hotel, hosted its inaugural Birdies for Breast Cancer Event at The Links at Terranea on Oct. 25, to benefit the Cancer Support Community. Coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event welcomed 50 participants who played the oceanfront nine-hole course for a chance to win prizes and the tournament title. Participants raised $2,400 for the Redondo Beach Cancer Support Community Center. The check will be presented at Terranea’s annual Celebration of the Season tree lighting event on Dec. 6 at 5pm. Cancer Support Community – Redondo Beach offers a free program for cancer patients, their families and loved-ones. Its goal is to help as many cancer patients as possible recover from the physical and emotional effects of cancer to the greatest extent possible.
