Dine Around the Peninsula is the culinary event of the year, with local chefs showcasing their creativity and restaurants offering carefully curated, specially priced prix fixe menus. Guests can visit some of Palos Verdes’ finest restaurants, as master chefs serve up innovative menus featuring tantalizing culinary creations. At bashi, guests can enjoy contemporary Asian dishes with a special prix fixe dinner menu ($35). Throughout the month of May, Terranea Resort, A Destination Hotel, joined the fight against pancreatic cancer to raise awareness, funds and participate as a Silver Sponsor for Purple Stride Los Angeles event at Exposition Park on May 2. Terranea associates and their families joined together to support the mission of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to advance research, support patients and create hope for the pancreatic cancer community. Funds raised help provide personalized support for patients and to support research grants and advocacy efforts to increase federal pancreatic cancer research funding. Pancreatic cancer is currently the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States and is anticipated to become the second leading cause by 2020. This year, more than 48,900 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and nearly 40,000 will die. There are no early detection tools and few effective treatment options. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is working to change the future of this disease. Terranea has remained dedicated to supporting this cause through both Network sponsored events and events held on-property.
