Nibbles at Nelson’s, A Spectacular Way to Start the Day
Terranea Resort’s oceanfront restaurant introduces weekend morning menu
Palos Verdes, Calif.- July 13, 2010 – Just in time for summer, Terranea Resort’s oceanfront Nelson’s restaurant is introducing a weekend “Morning Nibbles” menu. Forget the caffeine, the ocean view alone may be all the jolt you need to greet the day ahead.
A unique concept that lies somewhere between coffee house fare and a traditional full-service restaurant menu, Nelson’s Nibbles couples lite morning refreshments with a spectacular ocean setting and chic beach shack vibe. Offered Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., the Nibbler menu is a limited lineup of signature breakfast items such as house made granola, fresh fruit with honey, streusel coffee cake, chorizo quesadilla and a smoked salmon and cream cheese brunch wrap in a spinach tortilla. Menu items range from $3 to $20 with most under $10.
“Nelson’s unrivaled ocean setting and casual, eco-friendly design make it an incredible venue for enjoying a cup of coffee and morning snack,” said Laura Mahmarain, Nelson’s manager. “We wanted the menu to offer classic items that speak to the unique essence of Nelson’s and its unparalleled location.”
One of Terranea’s most acclaimed restaurants, Nelson’s overlooks the ocean coves made famous almost 50 years ago by the television show Sea Hunt and sits so close to the sea that eating any closer to the water would require a wetsuit. Named after Sea Hunt’s main character Mike Nelson, played by Lloyd Bridges, Nelson’s is a 21st century homage to the modern surf shack as well as Bridges’ lifetime efforts to protect the environment and the ocean. From the furnishings all made of recycled materials to the centerpiece bar countertop made completely of recycled wine bottles, Nelson’s allows diners to enjoy the ocean while also preserving it for generations to come. The convivial ocean side setting make Nelson’s a natural destination to enjoy approachable yet refined pub fare with the laid-back atmosphere further accentuated by an outdoor fireplace and the incredible natural beauty of the coastline.
