NEW TERRANEA RESORT OFFERS UNPARALLELED SETTING FOR MEETING AND EVENT LOCATIONS IN THE WEST

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Terranea Resort, managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, is California's new premier meeting and event destination. The property fills a special niche by introducing a dramatic Southern California oceanfront location with state-of-the-art capabilities and luxury amenities for meeting and event planners, just 20 miles from Los Angeles International and Long Beach airports.
Picture-Perfect Meetings and Events
The developers of Terranea Resort, Lowe Enterprises, have combined more than 35 years of experience to create this exceptional destination. Featuring 60,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, many with views of the Pacific, Terranea will offer 33 meeting rooms for social and business gatherings. The offerings include the 18,000-square-foot Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom; the 6,600-square-foot Marineland Ballroom; and the Catalina Room, a 4,300-square-foot multi-functional room with a sweeping view of the ocean and Catalina Island. The property also offers three boardrooms, two with fireplaces, and three large hospitality suites - all with panoramic ocean views and walk out terraces that can be reserved for additional entertaining or intimate meetings.
Breathtaking ocean views make each venue a one-of-a-kind location. Every detail of the resort has been carefully considered including outdoor terraces with dramatic vistas from many of the meeting rooms. The property features 15 convenient breakout rooms located on one level - many with ocean views and walkout ocean view terraces. The variety of meeting room sizes accommodates groups of any size. The Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom can be divided into as many as eight smaller venues, each featuring 23.5-foot high ceilings for creative multi-media presentations and elaborate meeting set-ups. The Marineland Ballroom may be divided into three smaller venues that feature 18-foot high ceilings. Generous foyer space with panoramic ocean views allows for elaborate receptions and refreshment breaks.
The outdoor spaces at Terranea are as thoughtfully developed as the indoor event spaces. A wide variety of outdoor venues adds another 75,000 square feet of wedding, social event and meeting space. Each of the nine outdoor locations offers a different ocean view and distinct location. The unique 16,000-square-foot oceanfront Palos Verdes Meadows is a highly sought after venue for weddings, group functions or concerts.
Above & Beyond
Terranea sets the new standard in resort accommodations. The property boasts a 582-room resort including a 360-room hotel with 20 bungalows. Also available are 50 ocean front casitas and 32 detached ocean view villas tailored specifically to individuals looking for a more intimate setting.
The 360-room hotel also includes 32 suites. Accommodations will range from an average 450-square-foot guest room, all with balconies, to the 1,800-square-foot Presidential Suite. The 20 two-bedroom bungalows offer 1,642 square feet of comfort that can be locked off into two separate rooms. The 32 two- and three-bedroom villas are located in an ocean view enclave and range in size from 1,900 to 2,800 square feet. Nestled along the resort's east and west ocean bluffs are the 50 three-bedroom casitas, each capable of locking off in a combination of up to three separate rooms. Indoor and outdoor fireplaces in every casita and villa create a rare California coastal experience.
The bungalows, casitas and villas all provide alternative accommodations for guests and event planners looking for tranquil locations that boast all the amenities of a luxury resort.
Property Environment/Recreation
Terranea was designed to seamlessly nestle into the rolling oceanfront topography. The 102-acre, $480 million Mediterranean-style resort offers a host of amenities.
Terranea is home to The Links at Terranea, a nine-hole par three golf course featuring a short course practice facility, and for those with more time, Trump National Golf Course is located just three miles away. Three unique swimming pools including the main 5,000 square-foot pool with a children's play area and 140-foot waterslide, and Cielo Point pool, located along the ocean bluff for adult Resort guests.
The Spa at Terranea is designed as a separate, stand-alone destination spa offering customized wellness treatments. With an unsurpassed oceanfront location, the 50,000-square-foot spa complex offers 25 treatment rooms. The spa also offers an adult-only pool with private cabanas, manicure/pedicure stations, hair and beauty salon services, an expansive retail outlet with custom spa products, separate men's and women's indoor and outdoor relaxation areas and a 5,000-square-foot fitness facility and yoga studio.
Three ocean view restaurants will offer a variety of food and beverage experiences including Catalina Kitchen, a casual, all-day dining restaurant, mar'sel a free-standing signature restaurant, Nelson's a cliff-side bar with spectacular vantage points for whale watching, and various snack food outlets located throughout the property. Food and beverage are available at all pool locations.
Other amenities include a children's center with interactive programs and nearly two miles of on-property scenic bluff-top trails that connect to many miles of resort trails. A secluded beach cove also adds to the unique experiences at Terranea Resort.
Accessible Los Angeles County Location
Magnificently poised above the Pacific Ocean, the secluded and dramatic oceanfront setting is surrounded by acres of native coastal habitat. With its panoramic shoreline views spanning from east to the west, Terranea is one of the rare places where one can enjoy the sunrise and the sunset over the Pacific Ocean from a single vantage point. The property is located 20 miles from both Los Angeles International Airport and Long Beach Airport, 30 miles southwest of downtown LA and less than 45 minutes from many of the renowned sights, cultural, sport and entertainment attractions of Los Angeles and Orange County. Catalina Island is located 22 miles directly off the coast, easily accessed by ferry for day trips.
Connection to the Environment:
Terranea is committed to protecting the valuable coastal resources that define the Palos Verdes peninsula and its environmental plan calls for sustainable measures to protect open space and improve wildlife habitat.
To protect and enhance local water quality, Terranea implemented a series of environmental best management practices that include wet ponds, Bioswales, catch basin inlets and storm filters. Bioswales are vegetated channels, essentially man-made wetlands, which enhance water quality and provide a habitat for many avian and aquatic species.
No land was removed from the area during the development of Terranea, and 80% of the materials from abandoned structures left behind by previous tenants was recycled and used in the site preparation of the new resort. Of the 102 acres of the site only 25% is covered by impervious surfaces, either building or paving. This leaves roughly 75 acres of "green space."
