Introducing Marea - Terranea Resort’s New Luxury Lifestyle Shopping Experience

Marea Boutique at Terranea

Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. – May 2011- Terranea Resort has unveiled its newest luxury amenity - marea, an exciting and unique retail experience. Named for the Italian and Spanish words for tide, marea is a beautiful boutique that showcases high-end resort wear, adventure apparel and exclusive, one-of-a-kind jewelry and home goods for men, women and children.

 

Located in the porte cochere, marea is a focal point of the Resort’s entrance and its refined elegance sets the tone for the entire property. It is situated next to the Resort’s new activity concierge, Pointe Discovery, which specializes in unique and indigenous recreational activities.

 

“This new space brings a distinctive energy and excitement to Terranea,” says Terri Haack, executive vice president and managing director.  “The boutique itself is a relaxing, home-inspired setting where guests can find that elusive gift or a ‘wow’ personal item.”

 

Terranea collaborated with Seaside Luxe, a retail design and management company that specializes in destination resorts, to create marea. The 3,000 square foot space pays homage to the property’s Mediterranean and ocean influences through use of artistic tiling, reclaimed woods, natural materials and a sea-inspired color palate. Many of the fixtures, furniture and display units were handmade specifically for the space.

 

This luxury fashion boutique delights guests with men’s and women’s resort wear from top designers such as Tory Burch, Joie, Jennifer Meyer, Elie Tahari and Tom Ford. A fun-filled kids section includes clothing, toys and games, as well as a life-size drawing easel and vintage ice-cream cart display. Logo wear and active gear are also available.

 

Signature retail programs that bring unique and one-of-a-kind items to guests are a highlight of the marea experience. Jewelry, clothing and home goods designers from around the world have been commissioned to create exclusive pieces that are found only at marea. A few examples include hand-made furniture from Tim Clarke, and beautiful Tahitian pearl necklaces and bracelets by My Oyster. Adding to the exclusivity will be regular VIP shopping events, designer appearances, trunk shows, and holiday retail parties.

 

Cleverly integrated into the new retail space is Pointe Discovery, a one-stop shop for guests in search of highly creative, customized and indigenous active experiences. At Pointe Discovery guests are encouraged to sign up for adventures that explore the rich local terrain and ocean environment, such as ocean kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and hiking, while simultaneously outfitting themselves in comfortable yet fashion-forward workout gear.
