Distinguished Hollywood Tradition Continues at Terranea Resort as ABC's Hit The Bachelor Shoots Wedding on Site

Continuing a legacy that has spanned more than 50 years, Terranea Resort was the site of a major Hollywood production over the last weekend as ABC's The Bachelor taped the wedding of the decade at the oceanfront property.

Rancho Palos Verdes, CA- March 2, 2010 – Continuing a legacy that has spanned more than 50 years, Terranea Resort (www.terranea.com) was the site of a major Hollywood production over the last weekend as ABC's The Bachelor taped the wedding of the decade at the oceanfront property.

"While Terranea's site has staged some famous Hollywood movies, it was thrilling for us to have something so real and beautiful shot here," said Terri A. Haack, executive vice-president and managing director of Terranea. "The setting was truly spectacular and romantic for this special couple. We were delighted to play a part in this extraordinary day for them."

The wedding special features the 13th installment of The Bachelor star, Jason Mesnick, marrying Molly Malaney. The first "Bachelor" couple to ever walk down the aisle will share a dramatic new chapter of their love story with millions of viewers when ABC televises its much anticipated wedding at Terranea Resort on The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding, MONDAY, MARCH 8 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

The weekend festivities for The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding, a special 2-hour episode, began with the wedding party taking over Terranea's mar'sel restaurant, one of the Los Angeles area's hottest new eateries the night before the wedding for a special celebratory dinner. The wedding production took over a significant portion of the resort’s rooms as well as the residential-style villa, casita and bungalow accommodations that are also part of Terranea Resort. Nearly 275 rooms were occupied by the guests, cast and crew of the elaborate wedding. The Bachelorette celebrities Trista and Ryan Sutter (married 2002) were guests at the wedding and enjoyed suite accommodations, while the bride and groom celebrated their wedding and honeymooned in one of Terranea’s luxurious oceanview casitas.

The taping of The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding is the first major production shot at Terranea Resort, located on an oceanfront promontory that once was the home of Marineland of the Pacific. The location's panoramic 270-degree view of the breathtaking coastline has always been a star on camera, but with the opening of the 582 room resort in June 2009, cast and crew now have a world-class resort to relax in and use as a backdrop.

"From a Hollywood standpoint, this location is unparalleled in its beauty and proximity to the major studios and production houses," said Haack. "Now cast and crews enjoy the comfort and luxuries only a resort of this caliber can provide while still offering the raw magnificence of this stretch of coastline."

About Jason and Molly's Wedding Episode

The couple, who announced their engagement in October, will let viewers in on all the exciting festivities - from Molly's dress fitting for her dazzling custom-made gown to Jason and Molly planning the big day with their wedding planner and event designer. Then it's on to their bachelor and bachelorette parties, and the next stage of their romantic journey with a beautiful wedding ceremony in the perfect location.

Past "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" couples, stars and participants were on hand to help the couple celebrate, along with their families and friends.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers. The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.
