Albert Pujols To Host Charity Golf Tournament At Trump National Golf Club

Event marks first activity for the Pujols Family Foundation to take place on west coast

Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. (May 2, 2012) –  Today, Los Angeles Angels slugger, Albert Pujols announced his plans to host the 10^th Annual Pujols Family Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes on Thursday, July 26^th.

“We are excited to show the people of Southern California what the Pujols Family Foundation is all about,” said Pujols.  “This is a great day for our Foundation and to have our first event at a course like Trump National is pretty special.”

The 18-hole oceanfront facility will serve as the backdrop for what is expected to be a full field of 180 golfers.  Each group will be paired with a celebrity participant to make up 36 available fivesomes.   Previous celebrity guests have included award winning actor, Jon Hamm, former NBA great, Shaquille O’Neal, NBA Hall of Famer, Bobby Knight, former MLB superstars, Mike Piazza, Bo Jackson, Mark McGwire, Ozzie Smith, Lou Brock and many more.

The shotgun start will take place at 10:00am followed by a cocktail hour and dinner program where a live and silent auction featuring unique sports memorabilia, exotic vacations and local activities will be available to the highest bidder.  All proceeds will benefit the Pujols Family Foundation.

Terranea, L.A.’s Oceanfront Resort located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, will serve as the official hotel sponsor for the 10^th Annual Albert Pujols Celebrity Golf Classic. Presenting sponsors include Oh Yeah Protein and Apollo Jets.  Returning as the official airline sponsor for the 10^th straight year will be American Airlines.
