The Team
Terranea is the creation of Lowe Destination Development (LDD), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lowe Enterprises, and represents the culmination of nearly four decades of excellence in the development and management of resort communities and hotels. Starting with The Gant in Aspen in 1972 (which the company still manages today), LDD has developed over $2 billion of resort real estate. But its true legacy is the deep respect it pays to the history, architecture and natural resources of the communities in which it builds. Representative properties include The Reserve in Indian Wells, California; Resort at Squaw Creek in Squaw Valley, California; Sunriver Resort in Central Oregon; and Suncadia in the Cascade Mountains of Washington.
As with many of these places, Terranea is managed by LDD's sister company, Destination Hotels & Resorts (DH&R). DH&R is one of the leading independent hoteliers in the U.S., working side-by-side with LDD to integrate real estate development with hospitality operations so that each is optimally enhanced. Among the properties managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts are Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona; Estancia Hotel and Spa in La Jolla, California; and L'Auberge Del Mar Resort & Spa in Del Mar, California. Each of these, and many others nurtured by LDD and DH&R, are recognized as some of the finest destinations in the world.
