From October through March, Nelson's offers some of the best whale-watching in all of California.
A particularly scenic and noteworthy dining option is Nelson's located directly above the Pacific. With a view to the Point Vicente Lighthouse, this Southern California restaurant offers one of the most scenic locations in Palos Verdes from which to enjoy a meal in a casual setting.
Restaurant menu offerings include regional Southern California favorites such as chipotle shrimp tacos, seared ahi sandwiches, goat cheese salads and delicious sweet potato fries, all presented in a casual dining atmosphere while you relax by outdoor fire pits and soak in the incredible natural beauty of the Palos Verdes coastline. Enjoy a wide array of beverages including California wines, micro brewed beers and specialty blended drinks. Canine friends are accommodated outside with a doggie resting place and water to wet their whistle.
Nelson's is furnished with items using recycled material - the bar countertop is made of recycled wine bottles. Nelson's is a tribute to Mike Nelson, the character played by Lloyd Bridges in the famed Sea Hunt television series. Much of the hit program was filmed on the site and in the waters around where Terranea is built. Mr. Bridges was a pioneer in environmental awareness and his Sea Hunt character was instrumental in bringing the message to the world that the oceans are one of our most vital resources which we should do all we can to preserve.
