Recycling Programs
Starting with the preservation and replanting of dozens of giant specimen trees that first took root in the 1950s, Terranea is committed to recycling programs that will minimize waste during the construction process and reduce the resort's footprint on the natural landscape of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Recycling guidelines that will be practiced at Terranea:
- A recycling program will be developed that includes paper, glass, plastic, metals, and organic waste
- All remote control batteries and light bulbs will be recycled
- Printer and copier toner cartridges will be recycled
- The resort will use live, edible and/or reusable decorations
- A linen/towel reuse option will be communicated to guests
- An amenity donation program will be established for any unfinished toiletries
- Paperless meetings - all registration materials and meeting handouts to be available online
- All name badges and meeting banners will be recycled
- The resort will minimize paper waste such as registration forms, handouts, evaluation, and collateral forms, etc
