Here’s the latest and greatest for this upcoming week’s Resort Drink Special at Terranea . . . (drum roll, please . . . ) the “Cape Fear!”  I know, you’re all asking “what’s a Cape Fear?!”  Well, here you go . . .

Named after a classic pirate hangout and inlet off the coast of North Carolina (think Blackbeard), the Cape Fear is my spicy twist on the old classic, “Dark & Stormy.”  The Dark & Stormy is the “unofficial” national drink of Barbados, made up of dark Barbados rum, lime juice and ginger beer...

Terranea is pouring special homemade cocktails every week for your sipping pleasure!  This week we're featuring the Cucumber Caipirinha.  Try to make it yourself using the recipe below or swing on by the resort and ask the bartneder for our weekly special...

Once again we enjoyed a beautiful evening at mar'sel that fed all of our senses. Starting off with a slightly tart but exquisite kumquat cocktail (no alcohol), we moved into a wonderful hearts of palm salad that was fresh, tender and full of flavor. For our entrees, my husband chose an incredible NY steak and I selected the superb oregon mushroom/morel dish. These mushrooms had a woodsy/rich flavor and I'm already wishing I'd ordered a second plate to go. On the side, we had the potato fingerlings with creme fraiche (we certainly indulged!). There was lots of oo'ing and ah'ing taking place at our table. Never to be missed, we completed our meal with cherries and mint ice cream and the melt in your mouth brown butter blueberry crisp. Being at Terranea is a wonder in itself - the graceful pelicans above, the dolphins playing in the water and the mesmerizing gently lilting waves of the ocean. Top that off with another magnificent meal at Mar'sel and we feel incredibly grateful. A big thank you to Jessica who helped us with our selections. She added her warm personality to the ambience of the evening.

Terranea Resort's signature restaurant, mar'sel, further enhances the breathtaking ocean views by highlighting another unique element, the moon.  On select nights each month, guests are able to view the moon rise from the restaurant’s outdoor patio.  Chef Michael Fiorelli has created a special five-course tasting menu to coincide with the lunar calendar and wine pairing is also available...

Nelson's Summer Concert Series

May 28 - Sept 3:  6-10pm

Nelson's is launching a summer concert series starting on Saturday, May 28^th!  Featuring a live band every Saturday through Labor Day weekend, we'll be playing everything from Hawaiian Reggae to Classic Rock.  Presenting a local band from the South Bay each night, festivities will start at 6pm and go to 10pm.

Along with music, Chef Bruce and his team will be putting together amazing culinary creations to complete the Saturday’s at Nelson’s experience!
