Meet the Pro
Welcome to The Links at Terranea! If you appreciate classic "old-school" golf design, crafty shotmaking, walking instead of riding, and playing the game against a blue ocean backdrop, then you will love The Links. At the same time, if you are new to the game and are looking for a welcoming environment, or don't play as much as you'd like to because of time, then The Links is perfect for you, too.
You might say that I was born to be a golf professional, which is very different from being a professional golfer (I've done that, too). Of course I love playing, but my real satisfaction comes from helping people get the most out of their games and providing an unforgettable golf experience. Further, the USGA and PGA of America have been endorsing the idea of courses like ours to grow the game of golf. So, when I was presented the opportunity to leave my head professional position at a championship-length 18-hole course, and open a 9-hole par-3 course, I jumped at the chance.
At the same time, make no mistake...this is great golf. I have been fortunate to have seen and played some of the world's great courses, and many of the elements from those courses can be found in Todd Eckenrode's design. Think of The Links as a bonsai Pebble Beach. (On a side note, Todd Eckenrode shares the course record of 24 with former PGA Tour winner, Mark Pfeil.)
Whether you play The Links with competitive friends, your child, your significant other, or as a participant in larger group function, I promise you will enjoy The Links as much as any other course you have played. Best of all, when you've finished your round, you'll have plenty of time left to enjoy the other amazing amenities and activities at Terranea.
I look forward to seeing you at The Links!
