Terranea Resort and Local DMC embraces all things local with an artistic flair to enhance programs & events!

Our perfect climate and ocean views likely explain the abundance of area artisans and enchanting local features perfect for weaving throughout the fabric of your next program at Terranea Resort.  Here in Rancho Palos Verdes, the use of art and artistry as a theme is a natural choice with the Palos Verdes Art Center as a nearby inspiration.  Lacing local art into a program itinerary makes for exciting events; everyone enjoys interacting with local artists working their crafts at on-property Welcome Receptions and off-property venues such as La Venta, an architectural work of art, a historical building and one of the first on the Peninsula.

For a fun first impression we will enhance your Welcome Desk with a fresh local flower cart from which your guests may assemble an arrangement in company colors, complete with a bud vase, to adorn their room.  Guests will get in touch with their artistic side while enjoying the views of Terranea and local flora and fauna while experiencing an interactive artisan event.  Consider an outdoor artisan’s cabana on property to house local artists conducting classes in jewelry making, silk painting, small mosaics, travel photography and more.  As day turns to evening, a "California Coastal" theme adds water colorists, blown glass artists, pottery artisans, lives sketches of an actual event scene or of the local wildlife, and even living statues who always amaze with their ever-so-subtle changes in pose.  With an atmosphere of visual artistry in the event décor, table treatments, and interactive components, perfectly blended musical complements can be found in a local youth jazz trio during cocktails provided by a local youth non-profit as well as performance art such as a combination of dancers and a harpist with an oversized harp with 1, 00 foot long string installations creating a unique talking piece.

Daytime excursions take on local flavor with options ranging from hiking, biking and horseback riding in the local canyons, to cooking with local farmer's market ingredients, to a tour of an area "decorate your own" cupcake bakery. Other locally inspired tours to bring out the artist in anyone include a local chocolatier and wine tasting with shopping or a photo class capturing the local scenery such as the Lighthouse at Point Vicente or the coastal areas of Redondo, Hermosa, and Manhattan Beaches only a 20-minute transfer away.

No matter where your artistic tastes lean, ACCESS Destination Services will customize this theme for your event that only Terranea's environment and the local community resources can provide. Enjoy!
