Chef Bruce’s hot food trend is… GOCHUJANG!

Gochujang, what is that?! Gochujang is a savory and pungent fermented Korean condiment made from red chili, glutinous rice, fermented soybeans and salt. Traditionally, it has been naturally fermented over years in large earthen pots outdoors.

The Korean chile paste, gochujang, is catching fire outside of Koreatowns across the map. To image this trendy ingredient, think of bold miso meets the popular sriracha sauce. Commonly used as a condiment for Korean BBQ and Bibimbap (a signature Korean dish), gochujang is popping up on menus as condiments for burgers, pizza and chicken wings or being added to ketchup for an exciting zing.

If you would like to try this hot food trend, stop by bashi for their new “Gangnam Style Roll”. This sushi roll consists of Spicy Tuna, Kimchi, Gochujang Sauce, Wakame Seaweed and Ponzu.
