A Beautiful New Pelican Sculpture is Unveiled by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy at Terranea Resort!

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy unveiled a new public sculpture donated by Dr. Allen and Charlotte Ginsburg, supporters of the 1200-acre Palos Verdes Nature Preserve, here at Terranea Resort last week.  The life-size bronze California brown pelican sculpture...

...was created by artist David Clemons of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. A professional illustrator, graphic designer and sculptor for more than 20 years, his figurative and poetic works are on display in numerous cities from California to Florida. The sculpture is located on the public Discovery Trail, near the Fisherman’s parking lot between Terranea Way and Point Vicente in Rancho Palos Verdes for public viewing.

Charlotte Ginsburg expressed, “we think it is important to set aside land for future generations, and it is important to revitalize open areas and wildlife corridors that support native flora and fauna. We love combining two of our greatest loves: art and nature. Pelicans are a sign of a healthy ecosystem – clean air, food, and ocean – and exemplify the beauty of nature by its graceful flight.” The Dr. Allen and Charlotte Ginsburg Foundation has provided significant funds over many years to support the preservation of open space on the Peninsula.  We are ever so grateful to be the host site for this beautiful piece of art!
